Project Manager – Defence and Maritime Capability

About the role

You will be embedded within a major Defence program delivering critical naval capability outcomes in a complex, multi‑project environment. The role involves providing end‑to‑end project management services across maritime capability development and sustainment, working closely with Defence stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules and governance structures.
• Coordinate delivery activities across internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress against milestones, manage risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities.
• Support governance forums with reporting, briefings and decision‑making documentation.
• Track project costs and assist with financial management and controls.
• Contribute to assurance activities and transition into sustainment phases.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in project management within Defence, government or highly regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of project governance, scheduling, risk and stakeholder management.
• Experience supporting capability acquisition or large‑scale program delivery (highly regarded).
• Ability to work within structured, high‑compliance frameworks.
• Excellent written communication, especially in reporting and briefing preparation.
• Current Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 minimum; NV2 or TSPV highly regarded).
• Naval, maritime or broader Defence capability experience is advantageous.
