Project Logistics Coordinator – International Freight Forwarding (Brisbane)

About the role

The Project Logistics Coordinator will be based in Brisbane and will manage end‑to‑end logistics for special mining operations in Papua New Guinea. You will act as the central hub between procurement, engineering, freight forwarders, transport contractors, ports, customs authorities and on‑site teams to ensure safe, compliant and cost‑effective movement of project cargo.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute the transport of containerised, break‑bulk, heavy‑lift and out‑of‑gauge equipment from global vendors to remote PNG mine sites.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, heavy‑transport contractors and local authorities.
• Oversee customs clearance, biosecurity compliance and documentation for all shipments.
• Monitor project schedules, costs and performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Resolve operational issues in high‑risk, remote environments to keep cargo on‑time.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project logistics, preferably within mining, resources or heavy industry.
• Demonstrated experience handling containers, break‑bulk, heavy‑lift and OOG cargo.
• Strong knowledge of PNG logistics, remote operations and infrastructure constraints.
• Experience coordinating freight forwarders, shipping lines and heavy‑transport contractors.
• Relevant logistics, supply‑chain or engineering qualification.
