Project Cost Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Cost Controller to join a new renewables EPC project in Melbourne. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Finance team and other stakeholders to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting and cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, actual costs and commitments, investigate variances and potential overruns.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasting models and variance analysis.
• Manage cash‑flow reporting, track inflows and outflows, and submit client milestone and payment claims.
• Maintain project forecasts, budgets and billing plans, highlighting financial risks and opportunities.
• Handle purchase requisitions, orders, accruals and cost allocations, and coordinate financial data with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Previous experience in project cost control, accounting or finance on large‑scale EPC or renewables projects.
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting, reconciliation and variance analysis skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Excellent communication and collaborative abilities, highly organised and analytical.
