Production Coordinator

About the role

The Production Coordinator will support the Production Manager and the wider Programs and Operations teams in planning, technical delivery, and execution of the Sydney Fringe Festival. This fast‑paced role combines hands‑on technical work with volunteer coordination to ensure smooth festival operations across multiple venues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing Event Management Plans, production schedules using Propared software, and risk assessments for festival events.
• Support technical planning for Sydney Fringe Hub programming, including venue fit‑outs, equipment preparation, packing lists, supplier liaison and logistics.
• Coordinate recruitment, rostering and induction of volunteers, maintaining accurate records and providing administrative support.
• Oversee venue operations during assigned shifts, ensuring lighting, audio, staging and show‑control equipment are installed, rigged, operated and packed down safely.
• Assess artist technical riders, offer practical solutions, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Assist with bump‑in and bump‑out processes, ensuring venues are production‑ready and technical systems are operational.

Required profile

• Highly organised and proactive with strong communication skills.
• Passion for the arts and commitment to supporting artists and new work.
• Hands‑on experience in live theatre, technical production or stage management.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced festival environment.
• Willingness to work onsite across multiple venues and varied shifts.
