Product Engineer – Horizontal Grinding Mills

About the role

Metso is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Product Engineer to support the design, tendering and delivery of its horizontal grinding mill portfolio. You will work closely with sales and engineering teams to ensure competitive and sustainable solutions for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the sales and proposal team with technical expertise of horizontal grinding mill products, including drafting presentations, reviewing specifications, and preparing deviation lists.
• Produce preliminary and detailed grinding mill designs for budget, tender and firm stages, and hand over finalized designs to the delivery engineering team.
• Develop and maintain quotation and engineering tools, and provide guidance for sub‑supplier quotations and strategic sales decisions.
• Participate in product development activities such as CAD design, simulations, and R&D projects.
• Provide technical support to delivery projects, maintain engineering documentation, and conduct risk assessments to meet safety standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical report writing.
• Motivated to work in a project‑driven, technically complex environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Enovia PLM (advantage).
