About the role
The Department of Customer Services is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead a high‑performing team delivering compliant, value‑driven procurement outcomes for Queensland. You will shape strategy, oversee end‑to‑end procurement processes, and ensure alignment with government priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a customer‑service focused procurement team, fostering capability in strategy, sourcing, contract management and performance.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement through strategic planning, policy development and training.
- Provide independent, timely strategic and operational advice on procurement and contract matters.
- Monitor and report on procurement performance across government agencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients, agencies, contractors and suppliers.
- Conduct market research, risk analysis, develop sourcing strategies, procurement plans and evaluation matrices.
- Ensure robust, accurate corporate records, systems and reporting.
- Represent the department in key procurement forums and stay abreast of trends.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing a complex team in a dynamic environment.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary procurement practices across the full procurement lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver value for money while supporting local businesses and sustainable outcomes.
