Prisoner Education Coordinator

About the role

The Prisoner Education Coordinator joins the Education and Vocational Training Unit at Hakea Prison to deliver comprehensive education and training services to incarcerated learners. This role supports the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable participants to take responsible control of their lives now and after release.

Key responsibilities

• Provide curriculum design, teaching, assessment and staff development for prison education programs.
• Coordinate industry liaison and vocational training opportunities.
• Model integrity, respect and effective communication in all interactions.
• Operate within the Department’s Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve strategic objectives and drive continuous improvement.
• Represent the Department on committees and working groups as required.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in teaching or a related field.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or completion within six months of employment).
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
