Primary Teacher – Physical Education (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

Highgate Primary School is seeking a motivated Primary Teacher to deliver Physical Education programmes across the primary years. The role begins in Term 3 2026 on a permanent full‑time basis and may evolve to include classroom teaching responsibilities as school needs change.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the primary Physical Education curriculum in line with the Western Australian Curriculum.
• Plan and teach engaging PE lessons for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
• Coordinate whole‑school sporting events, carnivals and inter‑class competitions.
• Support classroom teachers and potentially undertake classroom teaching duties in the future.
• Promote student wellbeing, safety and inclusive participation in all activities.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with registration to teach in Western Australia.
• Demonstrated experience delivering PE in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the WA Health and Physical Education curriculum.
• High emotional intelligence and ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to a collaborative, consensus‑based school culture.
