Polywelders & Operators – FIFO Mining Projects

About the role

NUCREW is seeking experienced Polywelders and Operators to join FIFO teams on large‑scale mining and civil projects in Western Australia. The role involves delivering high‑quality butt‑fusion and electrofusion welding, as well as operating heavy equipment to support pipeline installation and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform polywelding (butt‑fusion and electrofusion) using McElroy and Dixon machines.
• Assist with installation of HDPE, steel, and copper pipelines.
• Conduct hydro‑testing, commissioning, and tie‑in activities.
• Operate IT Loaders, Skid Steers, and Excavators safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with site crews to achieve safe, on‑time project outcomes.

Required profile

• Valid Polywelding tickets – Butt Weld (PMBWELD301E) & Electrofusion (PMBWELD302E).
• Nationally recognised tickets for Excavator, IT Loader and Skid Steer operation.
• HR Driver’s Licence and White/Blue Card.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
• Strong safety focus and reliable work ethic.

Required skills

• Polywelding (butt‑fusion & electrofusion) using McElroy (T900, T500, T618) and Dixon (HF630, HF225) equipment.
• Operation of IT Loaders, Skid Steers and Excavators.
• HDPE pipeline installation, hydro‑testing and commissioning.
• Chainsaw, dogging, loader and crane (C2/C6) ticket knowledge (highly regarded).
