Pharmacist Team Lead - Compounding Services

About the role

Cabrini Health is seeking an experienced Pharmacist Team Lead (Grade 3) to lead its Compounding Services in the Malvern hospital pharmacy. The role provides operational and professional leadership to the compounding workforce, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant preparation of sterile medicines, working with pharmacy, nursing and medical teams to support patient-centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily operations of the hospital's compounding service
• Provide clinical, operational and professional leadership to pharmacists, technicians and support staff
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, guidelines and accreditation requirements
• Oversee quality assurance, risk management and continuous quality improvement
• Support workforce development through training, mentoring and performance management
• Drive service innovation and optimisation, and collaborate with stakeholders on specialised medication needs
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development and service expansion

Required profile

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA
• Significant experience in sterile and/or non-sterile compounding in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements and risk management
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
• Desirable: postgraduate qualifications or advanced training in pharmacy practice, management, oncology, manufacturing or quality systems; experience leading aseptic, chemotherapy or specialised compounding; experience in service development, project management or accreditation
