Patient Food Service Assistant (Casual)

About the role

Cabrini Malvern Hospital is seeking experienced hospitality-trained Patient Food Service Assistants to join its Patient Food Service team on a casual basis. The role mainly assists with ordering, preparing and serving food and beverages to patients. Shifts run from 6:30am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with menu ordering
• Prepare food for patients
• Clean the kitchen and equipment
• Provide service to patient rooms and associated areas
• Work with other hospital team members to improve patient safety, care and experience

Required profile

• Food Handlers Certificate, or willingness to obtain one at Cabrini
• Knowledge of culinary and nutritional terminology, including diet codes (preferred)
• At least 12 months' experience in food service or another service industry highly regarded
• Willingness to learn and follow directions
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Flexible, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, with good interpersonal skills
