About the role
The Professional Standards Division of the Legal Regulation Department (PS‑LRD) is seeking a part‑time Paralegal to support its Investigations and Litigation teams. This permanent position is ideal for a law student or recent graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience in a high‑profile regulatory environment located in Martin Place, Sydney.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal assistance to Investigations and Litigation Solicitors on complaints investigations, compliance monitoring, litigation, external intervention, and costs recovery.
- Conduct legal research and review documents and evidence as directed.
- Classify, organise, and manage files, records, and evidence for various case streams.
- Draft precedent‑based legal documents, correspondence, reports, and submissions under supervision.
- Support reporting systems for investigations, compliance, litigation, and costs recovery.
- Assist the Director and Deputy Directors with ad‑hoc tasks as required.
Required profile
- Currently studying a law degree or a graduate of a law degree.
- Strong administrative experience gained in a Paralegal or legal administrative support role.
