Network and Systems Administrator

About the role

Boeing is seeking a Network and Systems Administrator to support its Battlespace Communication System (BCS) program in Brisbane. You will maintain and improve the software development environment and manage software deployments to the Systems Integration Facility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration tasks, including user account management, workstation and server provisioning, inventory tracking, monitoring and triaging.
• Plan, implement, maintain and monitor a complex networking environment.
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure and the software development environment.
• Execute regular software deployments to the Mission System Test and Integration Facility.
• Engage with stakeholders and engineering teams to continuously improve the environment.
• Conduct ad‑hoc testing and contribute to automation using infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
• Participate in agile collaboration, review pull requests, and provide feedback to DevOps and development staff.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship to meet defence security requirements.
• Proven experience with Linux operating systems, system administration, virtualization and networking/IP stack.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing, NAT, IPv4, IPv6, subnets, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VLAN/VxLAN.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT, or equivalent experience; background in defence or complex engineering projects.
