About the role
Framestore, a multi‑Oscar‑winning film and episodic studio, is seeking an experienced compositor to join its Melbourne VFX team. You will integrate live‑action and computer‑generated elements to create high‑quality visual effects that meet the studio’s cinematic standards.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor to define creative and technical approaches for assigned shots.
- Integrate 2D, 3D and live‑action elements, ensuring seamless compositing to film‑grade standards.
- Take briefs from Lead Compositors and VFX Supervisors, manage workload, and meet schedule deadlines.
- Maintain clear communication with production leads regarding progress and feedback.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a film VFX pipeline.
- Strong eye for detail, composition, colour and lighting.
- Ability to balance creative vision with technical constraints and deliver high‑standard work.
Required skills
- Fluent in Nuke or other node‑based compositing software.
- Good knowledge of colour‑space principles and contemporary compositing techniques.
