Mechanical Technician – Maintenance Team

About the role

Nestlé Gympie is looking for a motivated Mechanical Technician to join its Maintenance Team at the Queensland coffee manufacturing plant. The role focuses on keeping plant equipment safe, efficient and reliable across manufacturing, filling, packaging and utilities areas.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment faults promptly.
• Support breakdown response, troubleshooting and shutdown planning.
• Execute work in line with safety, quality and GMP requirements.
• Complete maintenance documentation and work orders in SAP.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Contractors and fellow maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.

Required skills

• Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, valves and rotating equipment.
• Use of SAP for maintenance management.
