About the role
Ceejay Precision Engineering is looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join its engineering team in Welshpool, WA. You will be responsible for planning, designing, developing and overseeing mechanical systems, plant equipment and related projects that drive operational efficiency, quality and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical equipment, machinery, steel components and systems for manufacturing and operational use.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering calculations, drawings and documentation.
- Analyse project requirements, including material selection, equipment capacities, process flow and system layouts.
- Oversee assembly, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and process plant equipment.
- Conduct engineering analysis and performance assessments to improve reliability, efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement quality‑assurance, testing, inspection and maintenance standards.
- Manage project schedules, labour allocation and procurement of materials and equipment.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor plant and equipment performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Liaise with project managers, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to meet project objectives and timelines.
Required profile
- Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in steel fabrication and plant operations.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering standards.
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Successful completion of Engineers Australia skill assessment (mandatory).
