Linux Administrator – Advanced Security Solutions

About the role

Leidos Australia is hiring multiple Linux Administrators for its AGO GEO SPACES program, delivering advanced national‑security technology solutions in a secure, high‑compliance environment. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting the organisation’s Linux server landscape and associated infrastructure to ensure stability and efficiency of mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for complex Linux issues, minimizing business disruption.
• Manage virtualised environments (VMware, KVM) and physical platforms such as HP OneView and GreenLake.
• Develop and apply system configurations using Ansible, Puppet or Chef and manage the Standard Operating Environment lifecycle with Kickstart.
• Administer accounts, permissions and authentication services (LDAP and similar) while maintaining security compliance.
• Implement security controls including firewalls and mandatory access controls.
• Automate routine tasks with Bash, Python or Perl scripts.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with enterprise‑grade Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Strong capability in managing user access and authentication services (OpenLDAP or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with configuration and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi/vSphere, KVM).
• Proven Level 2/3 incident management background.
• Must be an Australian citizen holding an active TSPV security clearance.
