Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our newly established in‑house legal team at CreditorWatch. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide day‑to‑day legal support across the business, helping to identify, assess and manage legal risks.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as SaaS subscription contracts, NDAs, supplier and customer agreements.
• Manage contract lifecycles, including the development of templates, playbooks and standard terms.
• Identify and escalate legal risks in commercial arrangements.
• Advise on regulatory requirements in Australia and New Zealand, covering privacy, consumer law and credit‑reporting obligations.
• Support the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver practical legal advice and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and employment law.
• Ability to apply sound legal judgement and provide clear, practical advice.
• Strong communication skills to work with business units and senior leadership.
• Full‑time availability and willingness to work in a hybrid model based in Sydney CBD.
