Lead Civil Engineer, Multisector Infrastructure

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to drive design across a diverse portfolio of transport, water, energy, defence, building and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in Sydney. This senior position offers the chance to apply core civil engineering fundamentals to a wide range of sectors and project scales.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed civil designs, drawings, models and documentation using AutoCAD, 12d and Civil 3D.
• Design infrastructure such as roads, transport corridors, bulk earthworks, hardstand areas, industrial and defence facilities, public domain works and building interfaces.
• Develop stormwater, drainage and civil water systems, including piped networks, open channels, detention, WSUD and flood mitigation solutions.
• Support energy, utilities and building projects with site development, access, pavements, services coordination and constructability inputs.
• Ensure all designs meet project briefs, relevant codes, regulations and sustainability requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, internal teams, external consultants, contractors and other stakeholders for seamless multidisciplinary delivery.
• Prepare feasibility studies, multi‑criteria assessments, technical reports, proposals and tender documentation.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination of utilities, pavement and structural design and conduct site visits and inspections.

Required profile

• Well‑rounded civil engineer who enjoys variety across multiple sectors.
• Proven experience in senior or lead civil engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure design standards and sustainability principles.
