Lawyer - Corporate M&A and Capital Markets

About the role

Clayton Utz is recruiting a lawyer for its Corporate & Capital Markets practice in Sydney, a team led by partners Jonathan Algar and Stuart Byrne. You will join an expanding practice serving domestic and global clients in technology, fintech, health, financial services and retail, working on Australian and cross-border corporate transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Australian and cross-border corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
• Advise on public and private capital raisings, including IPOs
• Advise on strategic corporate matters, governance, shareholder activism and ASX listing rules
• Work directly with clients and build your own professional brand with support from partners and senior leaders

Required profile

• 3+ years of post-qualification experience in a distinguished corporate law practice
• Equity capital markets experience highly desirable
• Ability to build lasting client relationships and strong commercial acumen
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to continuous learning

Required skills

• Well-developed project management skills, able to drive tasks autonomously
• Equity capital markets experience (highly desirable)
