Injection Moulding Technician

About the role

AYVA Packaging is seeking an Injection Moulding Technician to join its production team in Wetherill Park. Working on night shifts, you will operate state‑of‑the‑art moulding machines to produce high‑quality plastic components for a range of packaging applications.

Key responsibilities

• Set up injection moulding machines for production runs and trial runs.
• Perform quality checks on moulds before production starts.
• Start‑up and shut‑down of machines and manage cycle times.
• Troubleshoot and maintain machines and mould dies to minimise downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns, carry out repairs and optimise waste reduction.
• Collaborate with the Leading Hand and production team to meet output targets.

Required profile

• Mechanically minded, proactive and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Enjoys teamwork and takes pride in delivering top‑quality results.

Required skills

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience as a Die Setter or Plastics Technician.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge of injection moulding equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with In‑Mould Labelling.
• Familiarity with Engel, Arburg or Husky injection moulding machines (preferred).
• Current forklift licence (preferred).
