About the role
KPMG Australia’s Office of General Counsel is seeking an in‑house Legal Counsel to support its rapidly expanding technology and commercial services. Based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, you will work closely with senior executives, including the General Counsel, to provide legal guidance on innovative solutions across AI, data analytics, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on KPMG’s evolving technology‑focused service offerings.
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements such as master services agreements, SaaS, licensing, managed services and outsourcing contracts.
- Support the structuring of tender responses and commercial proposals.
- Collaborate with client engagement, Risk Management, Privacy and IT Security teams.
Required profile
- Current Australian practising certificate.
- Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or in‑house legal team, preferably in technology contracting.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate legal analysis into business‑focused advice.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
