Industrial Engineer – Manufacturing & Process Optimization

About the role

Proventus Group is looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to join its high‑performing manufacturing and engineering team within the defence sector. Based in Canberra, you will focus on improving manufacturability, production throughput and operational efficiency across engineering, planning, production, quality and supply‑chain functions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and optimise manufacturing workflows, production methods and operational processes.
• Establish performance standards, conduct time studies and track efficiency metrics.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Review engineering Bills of Materials and manufacturing data to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Translate engineering designs into ERP production structures and manufacturable methods.
• Assist production planning, material flow and manufacturing coordination activities.
• Prepare performance, cost and operational improvement reports.
• Drive continuous‑improvement projects, lean manufacturing activities and value‑stream mapping.
• Provide urgent manufacturing support to maintain production delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in industrial, manufacturing, process or production engineering.
• Tertiary qualification in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
• Australian citizenship, based in or willing to relocate to Canberra, and able to obtain AGSVA security clearance.

Required skills

• Strong experience with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with PLM tools and process‑mapping techniques.
• Manufacturing data analysis and production workflow management.
• 3‑D modelling software.
• Automation systems knowledge.
