Head of Sales - Retail & Foodservice

About the role

A recruitment consultant is hiring, on behalf of an established food business, a Head of Sales for Retail and Foodservice based in Melbourne. The business focuses on high-quality food products, product development, brand building and meeting evolving consumer needs, and wants to expand its presence across key sales channels. The role leads a team of two direct reports and works closely with internal stakeholders on innovation and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the next phase of growth by expanding retail distribution and building brand presence
• Develop and execute sales strategies and strengthen key customer relationships
• Identify new business opportunities and maximise commercial opportunities
• Work with internal stakeholders to support innovation and new product development
• Influence the broader commercial strategy of a hybrid business serving retail and foodservice markets

Required profile

• Experienced National Business Manager or National Sales Manager
• Strong background in FMCG and proven retail sales experience
• Ideally has worked in a hybrid business covering both retail and foodservice channels
• Track record of driving sales growth, securing new distribution, managing key retail accounts and delivering commercial outcomes

Required skills

• Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
• Brand-building experience and exposure to new product development
• Ability to lead, influence and develop a team
