Group Finance & Tax Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, privately owned international agri‑food trading group. Based in Brisbane, the Group Finance & Tax Manager will work closely with the global CFO and the CEO to strengthen group reporting, tax governance and financial controls as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Australian entities, joint ventures, family trusts and overseas holding structures.
• Lead the transition from unaudited to audited financial statements.
• Design and implement a practical group tax governance framework.
• Manage corporate tax planning, computations and lodgements (Corporate Tax, BAS, Payroll Tax) and oversee tax compliance for international joint ventures.
• Ensure ASIC compliance and corporate governance for Australian and overseas entities.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Handle reporting requirements for banks, insurers and other external stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in financial systems, controls and reporting processes.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong background in tax, financial reporting, audit and corporate governance.
• Experience working with complex, international corporate structures.
• Proven ability to implement controls and governance in entrepreneurial environments.
• Hands‑on, commercially aware and comfortable operating both strategically and operationally.
