Graduate Social Worker

About the role

Early Start Australia, an allied health provider in Elizabeth, South Australia, is seeking a compassionate graduate Social Worker to join its multidisciplinary team. The role supports children, young people, adults and their families in navigating social, emotional and psychosocial challenges, offering assessment, intervention, advocacy and capacity-building services.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualised support plans
• Identify emerging psychosocial concerns and provide early intervention
• Facilitate group-based programs for children, parents and families
• Deliver counselling and therapeutic interventions to people with disability and their families
• Advocate for clients to access community services, funding pathways and support networks
• Coordinate care with healthcare professionals, educators and support providers
• Support clients to build resilience and independence, and educate families and caregivers
• Take part in case conferences and team meetings, maintain confidential client records and contribute to service improvement
• Provide crisis intervention and evaluate intervention effectiveness

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work
• Eligibility for AASW membership
• Experience with children, families, disability, mental health or community services
• Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
• Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
