Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join JCB Australia’s operations team. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you will oversee financial planning, reporting and compliance, helping to drive the company’s strategic growth and financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws and internal policies.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and growth strategies.
• Maintain strong internal controls and meet statutory reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement risk‑management strategies to protect assets.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive operational efficiencies.
• Support procurement, supply‑chain and other operational teams on financial matters.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Provide financial insight to senior leadership for strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Professional qualification (CA or CPA) required.
• Proven financial management experience, preferably in a capital‑goods import‑distribution environment.
• Strong financial acumen, leadership and strategic thinking.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial software.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
