Finance Manager – Australian Subsidiary (Townsville)

About the role

We are partnering with a globally listed French industrial group to appoint a Finance Manager for its expanding Australian subsidiary. Based in Townsville (with the option to reside in Brisbane and travel fortnightly), you will be the senior finance professional on the ground, reporting directly to the APAC Regional CFO and working closely with the local Managing Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process, three‑year forecasting and monthly reporting for Group submission.
• Prepare financial statements, conduct variance analysis and provide clear commentary to senior leadership.
• Coordinate month‑end, semi‑annual and annual closings with local accountants.
• Design and improve reporting tools, financial processes and internal controls.
• Partner with operational managers on cost optimisation, business plans and strategic projects.
• Manage cash, banking relationships and oversee the transition from Xero to more sophisticated accounting systems.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in financial control, FP&A, audit or industry finance.
• CPA/CA qualification or equivalent.
• Fluent English; French is a genuine bonus.
• Willingness to be based in Brisbane and travel regularly to Townsville.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Proficiency with other accounting systems.
