Engineering Manager

About the role

As an Engineering Manager in Aurecon’s Brisbane office, you will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities for Queensland Mining & Resources projects. You’ll provide technical leadership, mentor teams and ensure delivery aligns with scope, schedule, budget and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of complex multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers, designers and project teams, supporting capability development through coaching and mentoring.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables such as designs, calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to solve complex technical challenges and deliver high‑quality engineering advice.
• Manage project resources, work plans, estimates and priorities to support successful outcomes.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement and optimisation across projects and engineering processes.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualifications with experience in mining, industrial, utilities, energy or process plant environments.
• Chartered and RPEQ accreditation (or working towards) and a passion for high‑quality engineering solutions.
• Proven experience leading projects through the full lifecycle from feasibility to execution.
• Strong technical capability, commercial awareness and ability to balance engineering excellence with practical outcomes.
• Collaborative leadership style with a track record of mentoring teams and building client relationships.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to influence stakeholders in complex, multidisciplinary settings.
