Electrical Project Engineer – Substations & Energy Projects

About the role

Join a major decarbonisation program delivering large‑scale power and transmission infrastructure across Western Australia. The role focuses on 220 kV substation projects that enable the transition to renewables, offering a blend of engineering design and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review and influence electrical designs for 220 kV/33 kV substations.
• Develop scopes of work, specifications and technical documentation.
• Manage vendor packages including HV switchgear, power transformers and MV equipment.
• Coordinate procurement activities, technical queries and evaluations.
• Support construction, testing and commissioning phases.

Required profile

• 3–7 years experience in substations, utilities, renewables or heavy industry.
• Exposure to high‑voltage infrastructure, switchgear and power transformers.
• Experience in design review, package management or project engineering.
• Good understanding of Australian Standards and engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to manage vendors, timelines and competing priorities.
