DevOps Engineer

About the role

As a member of the trading technology team, you will support and automate the management of SIG’s proprietary trading systems across the Asia Pacific region. Working closely with developers, traders and support staff, you will help ensure the reliability and performance of critical market‑making and order‑management platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Become a subject‑matter expert on proprietary trading systems covering market making, OMS, market data and static/reference data.
• Automate deployment, monitoring and pre‑market checks on Windows and Linux environments.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to improve system performance, reliability and stability.
• Act as a liaison between developers, traders and internal technology teams to facilitate smooth information flow.
• Write and maintain technical and user documentation for new and existing systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
• Ability to work under demanding deadlines and changing priorities in a trading‑room environment.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell or C# (bonus).
• Automation tools such as Airflow, GitHub, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with MongoDB, Kafka, Grafana, Nagios, Elastic Search.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, multicast) and tools like Wireshark.
