Developer – CadNSW & ESRI Spatial Services (Grade 7/8)

About the role

Spatial Services is seeking Grade 7/8 Developers to join its agile, multi‑disciplinary team. You will design, build, and maintain critical spatial, land and property information systems that support NSW government operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain applications and services for ESRI implementations, CadNSW, and modernising addressing systems.
• Translate business and technical requirements into reliable, secure cloud‑native solutions.
• Modernise legacy services by migrating to AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, RDS, Step Functions, and SNS/SQS.
• Integrate on‑premises and cloud datasets, applying version control, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues using logs, metrics and analytical tools.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, partner agencies and external stakeholders to deliver consistent outcomes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with one or more programming languages (Python, Node.js, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#).
• Proficiency with source control tools such as Git.
• Experience designing and implementing unit and integration tests.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

Required skills

• AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, RDS, Step Functions, SNS/SQS).
• CI/CD pipeline creation and automated deployments.
• ESRI technologies – ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro.
• CadNSW platform knowledge.
