Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and customer‑focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to end‑users across the organization. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring systems, and ensuring smooth operation of IT equipment and networks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level technical support to users via in‑person, phone, or remote assistance.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network‑related issues.
• Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords in compliance with IT policies.
• Manage and support operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and business applications.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation of support activities.
• Ensure timely resolution of tickets and uphold service level agreements (SLAs).
• Assist in the rollout of new applications or updates and support system upgrades, installations, and maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk.
• Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of networking basics and Microsoft Office suite.
