Deputy Principal - Student Services (Years 3-6)

About the role

Yanchep Rise Primary School, located in Yanchep about 56 km north of Perth, is opening a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed-term, full-time and part-time vacancies that may arise during the 2027 school year. The Deputy Principal works with the Principal and other Deputy Principals to provide instructional, operational and student services leadership, with a particular focus on Student Services in Years 3-6.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate student support, manage complex cases and work with teachers, education assistants, families, school psychologists and external agencies
• Support staff in managing complex behaviour and maintain high expectations in a safe, predictable and inclusive environment
• Contribute to whole-school improvement, instructional leadership, staff development and consistent implementation of teaching and behaviour practices
• Build positive relationships, communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a leadership team

Required profile

• Australian, New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment
• Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
• Valid Working with Children Check and consent to a criminal history check with a current Screening Clearance Number
• Experience supporting students with complex behavioural, learning and social-emotional needs

Required skills

• Sound understanding of inclusive education, disability resourcing, individual education and behaviour planning and supporting students at educational risk
• Ability to manage staff, physical and financial resources
• Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly growing school
