Dental Assistant - Periodontics and Implants

About the role

Capital Periodontics and Implants, a specialist practice in the McKay Gardens Professional Centre in Turner offering periodontal care and dental implant treatment, is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant. The role is predominantly chairside, working alongside specialists, hygienists, the Practice Manager and the front office team. It suits a Dental Assistant with surgical experience or a strong general assistant ready to move into specialist work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chairside support across periodontal, implant and grafting procedures
• Assist with surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment
• Assist with dental implant placement and grafting procedures
• Prepare surgical set-ups and maintain a sterile field
• Sterilise and reprocess instruments in line with infection control standards
• Keep patients calm and informed before, during and after surgery
• Communicate with referring practices about appointments and treatment updates
• Maintain accurate clinical notes in the practice management software

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or higher)
• Specialist experience (orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, endodontics or implants) is highly regarded
• Strong communication and organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and grow
