Data Engineer – Azure & Microsoft Fabric

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Brisbane team. You will design, build and optimise modern data platforms on Azure and Microsoft Fabric, enabling high‑quality analytics across the organisation. The role involves close collaboration with architects, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Azure‑based data pipelines and ingestion frameworks.
• Develop and optimise datasets, dataflows, and Lakehouse structures in Microsoft Fabric.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Pipelines or similar tools.
• Build scalable storage and processing solutions with Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse and Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high‑quality models.
• Ensure data security, quality, governance and compliance with organisational standards.
• Troubleshoot data issues, performance bottlenecks and pipeline failures.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and continuous improvement of the data platform.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Azure data services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks).
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Pipelines).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and automation.
• Experience designing and delivering scalable, production‑ready data pipelines.
• Based in Brisbane and able to work on‑site three days per week.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident.
