Data Center Operations Technician Trainee (6‑month contract)

About the role

Join Amazon's Data Center Operations team in Sydney as a Technician Trainee. Over a six‑month fixed‑term contract you will gain hands‑on experience with the world’s largest computing infrastructure, learning to install, maintain and troubleshoot servers, networking equipment and rack systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with rack installations, server break/fix, and hardware component replacements.
• Diagnose hardware faults and troubleshoot network links under guided SOPs.
• Perform inventory tasks such as receiving equipment, decommissioning hardware, and sanitising storage media (HDD, SSD).
• Document all work in ticket‑tracking systems and follow Directed Workflow Instructions.
• Collaborate with logistics, security, engineering and project teams to resolve issues within SLA targets.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for server and networking technology and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Commitment to a six‑month contract with a view to potential full‑time employment.
