About the role
A leading high-frequency trading firm operating one of the most advanced low-latency infrastructures globally is looking for a Data Center Network Engineer through its Production Infrastructure team. The role combines deep network engineering, hands-on data center operations and trading application support in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment. It is a full-time position of 38 hours per week, with a weekend rotation covering network and trading application support.
Key responsibilities
- Own production network support on Saturdays and Sundays, diagnosing and resolving complex networking issues in real time
- Support low-latency data center networks and exchange connectivity, working independently in production
- Coordinate and execute hardware installs and replacements, and carry out higher-risk changes outside weekday trading windows
- Perform structured data center change activities with strong attention to risk management
- Support Linux-based trading applications, troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk and application logs, and assist with provisioning and operational tasks
Required profile
- Background as a network engineer with strong hands-on experience in BGP and data center networking
- Comfortable troubleshooting Linux systems and coordinating hands-on data center work
- Willingness to work most weekends, including 2 x 8-hour shifts or 1 x 12-hour shift every weekend, Monday to Friday off; secondary employment is not permitted
- Nice to have: Linux application support experience, low-latency or trading environment experience, and a DevOps-style automation mindset
Required skills
- BGP and data center networking
- Troubleshooting Linux systems
- Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language (contributing to existing tools, primarily Python/Go)
