Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior, hands‑on Cyber Security Engineer to lead security across a modern, cloud‑native environment in Brisbane. The role will own end‑to‑end security, covering SecOps, cloud security and ISO 27001 certification while supporting AI‑driven systems in regulated settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and certification of ISO 27001.
• Design, deploy and operate security monitoring solutions (SIEM, detection, alerting).
• Own vulnerability management and incident response processes.
• Secure AWS environments, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub and related services.
• Integrate security controls into AI/agentic system designs.
• Ensure compliance with the Australian Essential Eight and other relevant regulations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in cyber security or SecOps.
• Proven track record implementing ISO 27001.
• Strong expertise in AWS security.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and security monitoring.
• Hands‑on incident response and vulnerability management.
• Knowledge of Australian privacy and compliance frameworks.
• Preferred: ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, Essential Eight experience, exposure to AI/ML systems, and industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP or AWS Security.
