Conveyor Belt Splicer

About the role

A skilled tradesperson is needed as a Conveyor Belt Splicer in Australia, open to skilled tradespeople. The role covers installing, joining, repairing and maintaining rubber conveyor belts in mining, quarrying, manufacturing and heavy industrial environments. It calls for strong technical skills, attention to detail and safe handling of heavy-duty equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hot and cold splicing of rubber conveyor belts according to specifications and site requirements.
• Install, repair, maintain and replace rubber conveyor belts used in mining, quarrying and industrial applications.
• Prepare belt ends for splicing by measuring, cutting, stripping, skiving and buffing rubber surfaces.
• Operate and safely handle belt vulcanising equipment, presses, grinders, knives and other specialised splicing tools.
• Inspect belts for wear, damage and misalignment and carry out repairs.
• Carry out belt joining, pulley lagging, patching and other maintenance tasks as required.
• Work with site teams following Australian workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to meet quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Rubber Belt Splicer, Conveyor Belt Splicer or similar role.
• Proven hands-on experience with rubber conveyor belt splicing, repairs and installation.
• Experience with hot and/or cold vulcanised splicing is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of conveyor belt components, materials, splicing methods and specialised tools.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, measurements and work specifications.
• Good English communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to provide passport, police clearance, employment records, training certificates and other supporting documents.
