Consultant - Corporate Tax - Private Clients

About the role

EY is hiring a Consultant in its Private Tax team in Brisbane, working from a hybrid base in Meanjin. You will work with established large private businesses, high net worth individuals and families, and entrepreneurial start-ups, with exposure to both private and corporate clients, including cross-border and international tax work. The role is open to candidates who may wish to work flexibly with reduced hours.

Key responsibilities

• Support the team in managing a portfolio of growth clients, including privately owned corporate groups operating in Australia and overseas, local businesses, high-net-worth families, trusts and other private entities.
• Help handle tax compliance, prepare financial statements, plan and advise on a wide range of clients, including companies (including tax consolidated groups), trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Deliver expert consulting advice on complex tax issues such as corporate restructures, domestic and international transactions, capital gains tax, Division 7A matters and specialised trust concerns.

Required profile

• Some experience in tax consulting, gained in a top-tier or second-tier accounting or legal firm.
• Good understanding of tax issues affecting corporate groups, trusts and individuals.
• Eager to learn and build a strong career in tax consulting.
• Ideally hands-on experience managing a diverse client portfolio and solid tax expertise from an Australian professional services environment.
• Strong client-facing skills and confidence in leading meetings and building a professional network.
