Computer Security Specialist – Remote Contract

About the role

Mercor is seeking experienced cybersecurity experts to join a remote, contract‑based team focused on AI model security. You will work independently with flexible hours, collaborating asynchronously with other specialists to identify and mitigate security risks.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review AI‑related content for security vulnerabilities, emphasizing pattern recognition and classification.
• Apply systems‑programming and security expertise to improve AI model threat detection and reasoning.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a highly qualified, distributed team.
• Design, solve, and review challenging, real‑world security problems.
• Maintain independent work cadence while meeting project milestones.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
• Familiarity with vulnerability classification frameworks such as OWASP or CVEs.
• Solid understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, web security, and common attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail, pattern‑recognition ability, and clear English communication.
• Residency in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand and ability to pass an enhanced background check.
• Availability to start in mid‑April.
