Communication Officer – Strategic Engagement

About the role
The Communication Officer will support the Strategic Engagement and Communication branch of Brisbane City Council by developing and delivering internal and corporate communication initiatives. You will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to shape messaging about Council services and programs.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies and content.
- Create, edit and proofread corporate communication materials, newsletters and EDMs.
- Manage project timelines, coordinate tasks and meet competing deadlines.
- Maintain brand standards and writing style guidelines across all communications.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging.
Required profile
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in research, writing, editing and presenting content.
- Proven ability to manage own workload, prioritize tasks and deliver work on time.
- Experience supporting internal communication strategy development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Required skills
- Microsoft Dynamics (or similar platform) for building newsletters and EDMs.
