Commissioning Technician - Security

About the role

The Security Commissioning Technician will install, commission, configure and optimise security solutions such as Access Control, CCTV and Intercom across construction projects, fit‑outs and large‑scale customer environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and maintain integrated security systems including Access Control, CCTV and related technologies.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert guidance to project teams.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery to specifications.
• Support project planning, scheduling and execution activities.
• Mentor junior technicians and apprentices, promoting safety and compliance with Johnson Controls’ SHEMS.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years’ experience as a Security Technician or similar role.
• Trade qualification in Security Systems or related field.
• Current NSW Security Provider Licence (or ability to obtain).
• Full working rights in Australia and willingness to travel as required.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Access Control, CCTV and Intercom systems.
• Strong knowledge of IT networks, server configuration and system integration principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and documentation.
• Proficient troubleshooting and technical reporting skills.
