Commis Chef - Part-Time

About the role

Pullman & Mercure King George Square, a 438-room twin-towered hotel in the Brisbane CBD, is looking for a part-time Commis Chef. The hotel is located opposite King George Square and City Hall, and includes Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Cafe, as well as the rooftop bar Sixteen Antlers and KG Sports Bar.

Key responsibilities

• Offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow team members.
• Ensure food items are presented consistently and prepared to the required standards.
• Share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings.
• Liaise daily with the Executive Sous Chef and Outlet Manager on feedback about the food.
• Observe hygiene standards in the restaurant and ensure there is no food wastage.
• Maintain proper rotation of products in all chillers to minimise wastage and spoilage.
• Keep all work areas, utensils and equipment clean and maintained, and follow kitchen policies, procedures and safety and sanitation standards.
• Know all menu items, daily features and promotions.

Required profile

• Creative and passionate about food and customer service.
• Able to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
