BI Analyst (Power BI) – Finance Reporting

About the role

A financial services organisation that has recently built a Microsoft Fabric data platform is looking for a BI Analyst to automate and modernise its finance reporting. The goal is to rebuild existing manual Excel reports in Power BI so users can refresh them to get the latest data. The role is on-site in Sydney CBD (Martin Place), five days a week, and is advertised by Robert Half.

Key responsibilities

• Build Power BI reports across AR, AP, GL and broader finance / management accounting
• Work with the Credit team to improve reporting
• Translate existing Excel reports and calculations into Power BI
• Develop data models, Power Query and DAX calculations
• Use SQL to investigate and validate data where required
• Work closely with Finance SMEs to validate reports, make adjustments and test functionality
• Help standardise reporting and remove manual or duplicated Excel processes

Required profile

• Strong Power BI development experience
• DAX and data modelling expertise
• Strong Excel and financial reporting experience
• Ability to work directly with Finance SMEs and turn their requirements into reporting solutions
• Strong attention to detail and data validation skills

What we offer

• Salary of 130,000 to 140,000 AUD per year
• 6-month fixed-term contract leading to permanent placement
