Associate – Insurance Law & Personal Injury

About the role

Carroll & O'Dea Lawyers is seeking an experienced Associate to join its dynamic insurance law, litigation and personal injury team in Sydney. This full‑time position offers extensive client exposure, autonomy over files, and strong mentorship from senior Partners.

Key responsibilities

• Directly liaise with clients, providing accurate and timely legal advice.
• Prepare court documents and attend Supreme/District Court of NSW and the Personal Injury Commission for hearings and interlocutory matters.
• Participate in mediations, informal settlement conferences, and other dispute resolution processes.
• Brief counsel and expert witnesses as required.

Required profile

• Valid NSW Practising Certificate (essential).
• Demonstrated understanding of personal injury law and court procedures.
• Strong negotiation, mediation and advocacy abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and client relationship skills.
• Ability to prioritise work, manage competing deadlines and maintain client confidentiality.
• Bi‑lingual in Arabic is desirable.
