Associate Director, Project & Export Finance

About the role

The Associate Director, Project & Export Finance will contribute to the delivery, execution and ongoing portfolio management of large‑scale project and export finance transactions for ANZ’s institutional customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop productive relationships with key stakeholders to prepare and execute transactions.
• Conduct credit analysis, prepare credit memoranda, negotiate term sheets and documentation for new‑to‑bank customers.
• Lead end‑to‑end execution of refinancings for existing customers.
• Support client retention and generate value through ongoing dialogue on financial performance.
• Maintain credit quality by identifying adverse trends, escalating risk events and reporting to senior management.
• Manage the PEF portfolio through scheduled reviews, financial monitoring, waivers and consents.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, product standards and approval requirements.
• Contribute to a speak‑up culture within the PEF team.

Required profile

• Many years of experience in corporate, project, acquisition or structured finance.
• Understanding of market, business and economic trends.
• Strong verbal and written communication, influencing and networking abilities.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, law, business or a related discipline.
