Associate Director - Business & Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG Australia is seeking an Associate Director for its Business & Tax Advisory team. This senior position will be based in Gold Coast (or Brisbane) and involves leading tax and accounting solutions for a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of tax and accounting solutions for private businesses, family groups, SMEs, trusts, partnerships and international structures.
• Act as a trusted advisor, managing high‑value engagements from planning through delivery and building strong client relationships.
• Own a significant client portfolio, leading meetings, presentations and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders.
• Oversee complex compliance and advisory work, ensuring technical excellence and commercial value.
• Drive strategic advisory projects, including structuring, growth initiatives and business transformation.
• Contribute to business development and practice growth.
• Lead, coach and inspire a high‑performance, inclusive team.

Required profile

• People‑first leader with strong technical expertise in tax and accounting.
• Proven experience at Senior Manager or Associate Director level in a public practice accounting environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex client engagements and senior stakeholder relationships.
• Track record of leading, coaching and developing teams.
• Commercial mindset with experience in business development and growth initiatives.

Required skills
