Assistant Production Coordinator – Manufacturing

About the role

Hunter Douglas is seeking an Assistant Production Coordinator to support daily assembly operations for its window covering factory in Rydalmere, NSW. You will help keep production flowing smoothly, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency across the textile design line.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update daily production schedules, job lists and workflow plans.
• Verify that work orders, cut sheets and production documentation are accurate and readily available.
• Track order progress, flagging delays, shortages, re‑work or sequencing issues.
• Coordinate material availability with the warehouse and maintain component records.
• Maintain production boards, reporting templates and quality documentation.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, including HDMS reporting and 5S audits.
• Act as liaison between Production, Customer Service, Warehouse and Quality teams.
• Assist with WHS administration, safety records and incident follow‑ups.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment (blind‑making experience is a plus).
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with schedules, data and structured processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced production setting.
• Confident communicator with disciplined follow‑up.
• Certificate or Diploma in Business, Operations, Manufacturing or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S or other continuous‑improvement methodologies is advantageous.
